CMC-1 ~4.5x Magnification

The CMC-1 is a super macro accessory lens designed for compact and mirrorless camera systems. It provides significant magnification for capturing small subjects underwater, offering up to 4.5x magnification depending on the camera and lens pairing. This lens aims to improve on the working distance compared to internal macro modes, allowing for better subject lighting and reduced disturbances to skittish marine life. It attaches via an M67 threaded mount.

This optic is built with precision-ground, low-dispersion optical-grade glass. Multi-layer broad-band anti-reflective coatings reduce chromatic aberrations and other common optical issues that appear in underwater macro photography. The anodised aluminium housing is nitrogen purged during assembly to prevent internal fogging. The CMC-1 maintains image sharpness and contrast across the camera lens's focusing range, helping camera autofocus systems track subjects effectively.

For cameras like the RX100V, the CMC-1 delivers 2.3x magnification with an improved working distance of 56mm. With the Canon G7X, it achieves 3.0x magnification and approximately 2.4x the working distance compared to the camera alone. When combined with the Olympus M.ZUIKO DIGITAL ED 60mm f/2.8 Macro Lens, it reaches a 2:1 reproduction ratio, capturing an 8.5mm x 6.3mm image.
